The Center’s plans for impacting policy include:
- Educating policy makers and leaders about the relationship between trauma and violence;
- Advocating for more progressive reimbursement of trauma-related care and services;
- Advocating for mandatory data collection and reporting on intentional injury and trauma;
Advocating for multidisciplinary injury review teams.
2010 OMH Commission on the Impact of Trauma and Violence on the Health of African American Men
The Center is convening a commission of national experts to generate policy recommendations that will inform funding and program development by the Office of Minority Health, with a focus on the impact of trauma and violence on African American men. Read more.
