Bridging the Gaps Community Health Internship

The Center was a community site for the Summer 2010 Bridging the Gaps (BTG) program. The BTG internship program is a seven-week interdisciplinary program that combines the provision of health-related services for underserved populations with the training of student interns in the health and social services fields. BTG matches student interns with approximately 100 nonprofit community partners in Philadelphia, Erie, Pittsburgh, and the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, and in New Jersey. Students' projects are designed in collaboration with the community organizations based on community-defined needs and the professional discipline and interests of the students.

The Center worked with two BTG interns, Amadou N'Dow and Megan Strobel. Amadou is a student in the Drexel University College of Medicine. Megan is currently pursuing a combined J.D./Ph.D. in Clinical Forensic Psychology at Drexel University.

Scattergood Scholars Program

The Scattergood Behavioral Health Foundation supports the Center in engaging student interns through the Scattergood Scholars Program. These students are involved in all aspects of the Center's work, including research, training and policy, and the Healing Hurt People violence intervention program.
